This is a customized French class for Alf and his friends offered at Brooklyn Apple Academy every Thursday from 9:30am-10:30am. The class will be led by Cecile Fandi.  Cecile is an educator, teacher and mum of three girls.
Her love for nature has its roots in the garden of her dad in Benin full of exotic flowers but also fruit trees: papaya, avocado, grapefruit, lemon.
She also is passionate about beading and painting since she is 3 yrs old.
She graduates in 1999 and got her baccalaureat at EFE Montaigne french school of Cotonou,Benin. After her MFA Master Degree in Fine Arts, Bordeaux, France, in 2003 she started thinking about traveling to New york city. She have a part of her family in Normandy, France.
She came in 2005 in Brooklyn where she started babysitting and exhibiting her artworks in bars,lounges, cafe and galleries.
After she had her three girls, Cecile went back to work and taught as a volunteer art teacher at her daughter's school P.S. 262 for a year, 2013.
Then created a school garden at P.S. 262 , Bed stuy to educate children about growing food,environmental science, compost education and nutrition.(2013-1016) Then she taught for a year at The Gathering space new extension of Stuyvesant Heights Montessori school for a year as lead teacher for french in 2014. She completed her Master Composter course at BBG Brooklyn Botanical Garden in 2015.
She also taught art classes in french for a year at Butterfly 7 toy store in Bed Stuy. She creates Montessori materiels and uses Reggio philosophy
with her own multicultural approach of education to bring to the children:
art, science, cooking, gardening, botany, yoga, singing.
Cecile is convinced that children can learn and have fun at the same time.
