We cater to "gifted", "twice-exceptional", "special" and "highly sensitive" children that don't fit the typical schooling model (which we believe describes every child on earth). We incorporate principles of positive psychology, mindfulness, and gratitude into our curriculum. We follow the teachings of Dr. Wayne Dyer, Peter Gray and John Holt by providing opportunities for kids to figure out how the world works on their terms, through exploring their interests. Each day is filled with movement, PLAY, and the exploration of books, art and music. As certified providers of Natural Play Therapy and Advanced Brain Technologies we are committed to raising up self-directed, compassionate, solution-finding learners. At the core of our philosophy is an inter-generational inclusive model that welcomes all human beings to learn life’s lessons with each other. Our hope this coming year is to introduce a gluten free lunch club that offers healthy cooking lessons and eating. Children in need of special services, such as OT and Speech may elect to have their therapist come to Crayon Power. Classroom materials and elective activities support social development through all five developmental stages of play. Children may receive a ten month subscription to The Listening Program to develop balanced brain health and accelerate academic performance, or gain additional support across all their homeschooling environments for an additional investment.
