9:30-10:15am: Fine Arts with Julie Peppito

Julie is an accomplished fine artist and a Brooklyn Apple parent! She has had numerous solo exhibits in NYC and designed artwork for Brooklyn Playgrounds. She has recently finished a series of large scale tapestries that incorporate old toys and trash with detailed paintings. Her class will be student led and tailored to each student as much as possible.

Julie is a mixed-media up-cycling artist who is skilled in a wide range of media.  Upon request, students may have the opportunity to learn drawing, painting, collage, assemblage, sewing, and printing. Some classes may include visits from guest artists.

To see more of what Julie does and see her full bio and resume visit her website:
$175 for 6 sessions or $300 for 12 sessions (includes one-time $50 materials fee)

10:30am-12:30pm Stop Motion Animation with Dia Varano
In Stop Motion Workshop, we will animate with lots of different media using specialized software. We can make movies with legos and found objects of all sorts - bring in a favorite toy or action figure or use materials from the school.  Make a board game play by itself or forge a battle between scissors and paper!  Animate with human bodies - learn how to make yourself fly or slide across the room without picking up your feet - or cast yourselves in a stop motion silent movie. You could also create your own mini clay-mation movie complete with puppets and sets. Projects are completely student driven and students will leave with a firm grasp of the basics of animating and editing.  We can post the videos online when they're ready if desired, or create a DVD to take home. With stop motion, the possibilities are endless! $175 for 6 sessions, $300 for 10 sessions

1-2pm Break dancing with Gerardo! (Starts January 18th - details forthcoming!)
