Come Walk with Me - summer camp (Prospect Park-Lincoln Road entrance)

Come Walk with Me - summer camp (Prospect Park-Lincoln Road entrance)

from 125.00

This program is inspired by the unique and diverse treasures unseen and seen in Prospect Park, such as the Zucker Nature Playground; the Boathouse and surrounding banks; the Carousel and Lefferts Historic Farmhouse. We will explore the woods, run in the grass, and rest in the shade of a tree to snack together, inspecting the treasures we have collected along the way. We'll build fairy houses, sail handmade boats, make and chase giant bubbles and enjoy all the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of the natural world. We will lunch on the banks near the Lullwater Bridge with the ducks and their ducklings or watch the swans preen...very quietly. Later in the day we will spend time playing in the numerous water playgrounds and Wollman Rink to keep cool. (In case of rain we will have a tent/tarp or take shelter in the Audubon Center.)

Please keep in mind:

  • your child must be fully potty-trained (no diapers!)
  • we will be walking together, holding a tow rope, so your child will be expected to follow adult instructions
  • we will be outdoors and active the entire time, so a certain level of physical stamina is necessary
  • your child will need to carry their own backpack with their lunch, water bottle, sunscreen and a change of underwear
  • shoes and sandals must be well-fitted -- no crocs!

Weather:
rain: please dress your child in a raincoat/poncho and rain boots -- no crocs!
heat: if the forecast is for 98˚F or above, camp will not be in session that day
