Hi, I'm Aaron!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
In 2009, I received my BS in Biology with a focus in nutrition at Campbell University. During the later stage of my education, I become enamored with teaching, learning, and self learning. I abandoned my plan for graduate level nutrition studies and jumped right into teaching. I have taught project oriented, year long math and science courses at Upattinas School. I also taught student led one-on-one math, history, English, and science at the Agile Learning Center. People who rave about my teaching services admire the depth of engagement students receive, my unending patience, and my light hearted, zany teaching style. In total, I have 7 years of teaching experience and I currently split my time between one-on-one work and classes.
What is your philosophy on and approach to behavioral management?
I use calm, verbal reasoning to explain why certain behaviors are not okay. If unacceptable behavior continues, I ask the child to stop participating in the activity for that day. (They would receive ample warning before this happens.)
Do you have experience working with children with special needs?
