Hi, I'm Ms. Alison!

I speak English.

I speak English.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Alison Black, I am a dedicated and qualified Early Childhood teacher with a passion for children’s learning and care, and experienced with working in elementary and preschool environments with children ages 3-10. I have strong skills in developing fun and interactive learning activities and materials, observing, documenting and reporting students’ progress. I believe in teaching the core academics as well as the whole child. I understand that learning is a process and each child develops at their own rate. The program curriculum is focused on child development, advanced learning, creativity and cultural knowledge.

What is your philosophy on and approach to behavioral management?
I promote behaviors that result in students making positive, healthy choices for themselves and others by using the (PBIS) positive behavior interventions and supports (approachwww.pbis.org). I will also incorporate tucker the turtle techniques.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?

My favorite teacher was my second grade teacher because she seen something more than a ""bad"" child she pushed me and knew that if I really tried and believed in myself I could do the work and be a great student.
