Hi, I'm Hilda!

I speak French, Arabic, and English.

I speak French, Arabic, and English.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am an artist living in Brooklyn and I have been teaching art for kids ages 2-12 years for over 10 years. I have a Masters degree From ESCP-EAP, and speak three languages fluently (English, French and Arabic) and I am able to converse or teach any of these 3 languages. I have been working in education for 18 years with children aged 6 months to 19 years. I spent a year teaching art to children with cancer at the St. Jude Cancer Center in Lebanon. Currently, I work as a Museum Educator at Brooklyn Children's Museum and an art teacher assistant for kids at Eckford Street Studio, Brooklyn. I have a certification from the MOMA for Interactive Strategies for Engaging with Art. I am looking forward to bringing my art knowledge and skills to enhance the development of your child.

What is your philosophy on and approach to behavioral management?
I am not a "disciplinarian." Rather, I understand that when a child acts out, it is because something is wrong. I resolve conflicts peacefully by holding space, talking things out and validating a child’s experience.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My French Philosophy teacher because he conveyed to us life as is with tools to deal with it!
